Esteemed Actor Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Known For Roles in Seinfeld and The Middle, Dies at the Age of Sixty.

American performer Pat Finn, who appeared in popular programs such as "Friends", Seinfeld and "The Middle", has passed away aged 60.

The comedy and improvisation performer succumbed at his home in Los Angeles, California recently after undergoing treatment for a cancer diagnosis from 2022 onward, according to reports.

"Pat never met a stranger - solely future friends he had yet to meet," his loved ones shared in a message.

They added that he had "embraced life completely - with zest and passion".

An Extensive Television Career

His debut TV appearance was in the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he appeared as the titular character's brother.

He subsequently landed a repeating character on "Murphy Brown" from 1995 to 1997.

He appeared as Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in 1998, portraying a party host who would assign tedious tasks to his guests.

Throughout the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he had guest spots on several popular shows, including:

  • "King of Queens"
  • Friends
  • That '70s Show
  • House, M.D.

He was most recognized for portraying Bill Norwood in The Middle, featuring across eight seasons over nearly a decade.

His cinematic roles are It's Complicated (2009) and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).

Off-Screen Life

Away from his acting parts, Finn was an improv performer and also taught at the Colorado university, where he was a faculty member.

He was a member of a six-person improv troupe named "Beer Shark Mice".

"Finn taught, supported, and inspired many learners over the years and it's nearly impossible to find someone anywhere who has anything negative to say about him," his relatives stated.

Paying homage, fellow actor actor Richard Kind noted there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, grounded individual you could encounter".

"Consistently upbeat, making those around him better and funnier. A great dad, a great guy," Kind wrote publicly.

Pat Finn is survived by his partner Donna, his children, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
