These individuals are exulting in a mass killing that relief organizations believe claimed the lives of over thousands of individuals in the Sudanese city of the Darfur city last month.
A City Severed from the Globe
Following their control of the urban area under encirclement for almost 24 months, from August the RSF moved to reinforce its control and prevent access for the surviving civilian population.
Orbital photography show that forces started to construct a massive sand wall - a elevated sand barrier - around the perimeter of el-Fasher, sealing off roads and blocking relief supplies.
While the blockade worsened, 78 individuals were slain in an RSF attack on a religious building on 19 September, while the UN said 53 more were killed in aerial and cannon strikes on a displacement camp in fall.
Graphic Recording Depicts Weaponless People Gunned Down
At dawn on October 26th the paramilitary force overwhelmed the final army positions and took control of the central compound in the city, the command center of the Army Division, as the government forces pulled back.
Among the most disturbing recordings to surface and examined revealed the results of a mass killing at a university building on the west of the city, where scores lifeless forms were seen strewn across the floor.
A senior man clad in a robe was seated isolated amid the bodies. He rotated to glance as a combatant equipped with a weapon proceeded descending the steps facing the victim. lifting his weapon, the gunman released a single round at the individual, who fell to the floor lifeless.
"Why is this individual yet breathing," a combatant cried. "Kill this person."
Space-based imagery recorded on October 26th indicated to confirm that shootings were also performed on the roads of el-Fasher, according to a study issued by the academic research center.
One observer who communicated reported he had seen "multiple of our kin getting massacred - they were assembled in a specific area and everyone eliminated."
RSF Officers Attempt to Carry Out Damage Control
During the period that followed the massacre, paramilitary chief conceded that his fighters had committed "atrocities" and announced the events would be investigated.
Part of the arrested was following a report documenting his murders. Carefully orchestrated and produced recording posted on the RSF's formal social media platform depict him being led into a cell at a jail on the perimeter of al-Fashir.
At the same time, the militia and affiliated social media channels commenced trying to reshape the story.
Posts showing its fighters providing assistance to residents were circulated by several accounts, while the militia's media office published multiple clips allegedly to display the compassionate management of army captives.
Regardless of the digital initiative being employed by the paramilitary, their conduct in al-Fashir have generated global condemnation.
