Three In Contention for Young Athlete of the Year Award

English soccer star Michelle Agyemang, darts sensation Luke Littler and batswoman Davina Perrin have been named as finalists for the upcoming Young Sports Star of the Year award.
The trio have been recognised for their remarkable achievements over the previous year.
Agyemang helped the Lionesses claim victory in Euro 2025, Littler secured the world title for the first time, and Perrin rose to fame with a record-breaking innings.
Littler was the recipient in 2024 after his remarkable rise.
The shortlisted athletes were unveiled on a popular morning radio program.
The 2025 recipient will be announced during a live broadcast on the Sports Personality of the Year show on December 18th.
The show will be televised from 7 PM GMT.
Michelle Agyemang
Age: 19 Sport: Football
Only 90 days after her senior team debut, Agyemang played a dramatic and decisive role in England's run to Euro 2025 glory.
She was introduced as a substitute to score crucial late equalisers in both the knockout stage games.
Agyemang's stunning interventions led to her being named Young Player of the Tournament.
Later in the year, she was awarded the Golden Girl trophy for the top young European talent.
She was also in contention for the Kopa Trophy for the world's best under-21 female player.
Agyemang, who has been on loan at Brighton from Arsenal, suffered an ACL injury in October.
"Being nominated for Young Sports Personality of the Year is a privilege," said Agyemang. "I'm grateful to God and I'm grateful for the support I've received from my inner circle and supporters."
The Darts Prodigy

Littler kicked off the year in incredible form as - while still 17 - he became the most youthful world title winner in history.
He secured a commanding win over Michael van Gerwen in the final.
His later win at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth player to complete the prestigious triple crown of major titles.
His success continued - his victory at November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he climbed to world number one for the very first time.
At 18, he is the youngest man to do so, shattering the previous record.
"To receive a nomination for this award again is a massive accolade," stated Littler. "Last year's win was a proud moment for me and I've had another incredible 12 months. I want to continue promoting darts."
Perrin's Profile
Age: 19 Sport: Cricket
Perrin is one of English cricket's brightest emerging stars and burst into the spotlight with an unbelievable and unprecedented innings in August.
Her brilliant 42-ball century in The Hundred is the fastest by an English woman in T20s.
It also stands as the equal third-quickest women's T20 century in a major league or full member T20 international.
Perrin finished second in the season's run tally and was named the young player of the year by the PCA.
"I'm deeply humbled to be named a finalist for the Young Sports Star award," expressed Perrin. "It's a very special feeling. I hope it encourages more young females to get into cricket."
